Cimarron Sage 1 Park is located in West El Paso within a Hunt housing development. The park which is just over 2 acres is also immediately adjacent to a High School to which it serves as a major access point. Cimarron Sage II was designed to provide the neighborhood community with an enjoyable space for both kids and adults.

Unlike many parks, Cimarron Sage II has a naturally sloping terrain which was designed to accommodate terracing sport courts on one end and a gently sloping grass area along Paseo del Norte. While most play takes place in flat fields, the intent of the Park was to provide kids with a different approach, a place where they were challenged by the topography and cared for by the soft sloping grass.

The Park provides users with various species of shade trees, seating areas, and a series of swales that are used for water harvesting and adorned with boulders and native landscape. At higher ground, just above the swales, a playground area and a centrally located courtyard were designed to provide parents with 360 views and a care-fee area where kids can safely play.

Sites Southwest is the Landscape Architect of Record for this project. David A. Parra led the project design phases during his tenure there.
